What Sonnet 29 Means To Nile Hardy
When I am not on the good side of people and fortune
I cry to myself because, I am a social outcast,
I cry to heaven, but no one hears.
And look at myself, and curse my existence,
I wish, I was someone who had more hope,
Wishing I had that man’s skill, and that man’s luck.
But when I think of these thoughts, I begin to hate myself,
I think of you, and then I look at myself and become
overjoyed
Like to
the lark at break of day arising.
From
the darkness of the earth I sing to the heavens,
Thinking
of your love brings me sweet happiness,
That
then I would change nothing about myself, even to be a king
