Crazy Celebrity Encounter on a Miserable Day
One day that I will always remember is
the day I met the Pope. Two years ago my family and I went to Italy like we
hoped. The plane ride to Rome was time consuming, but fun. We were late
to the airport so we had to make a quick run. Airport was filled with familiar
faces, everyone was planning to go on vacation. Everyone was excited to travel
to a new nation. After a short walk through the tunnel we got onto the plane.
Air pilots and flight attendants greeted us, and the inside was not so plain.
There were movies played throughout the flight and wonderful meals of delight.
Chicken with cream sauce and tender beef from a cow of great might. Salad too,
but cookies proved the best of the bunch. Pretzels to start off the flight
packed a great punch.
We finally arrived
and the view from the window was a true sight to see. Plenty of historical
building and green fields greener than the world wants to be. Languages
surrounded us, Italian, Spanish, and even French. The weather was mild but when
it started to rain we hoped we wouldn’t get drenched. We got into a yellow
taxi, with a crazy Italian dude who spoke very fastly. Passing the Trevi and
the Colosseum we hoped that we would arrive at our hotel lastly. Beautiful
architecture, a building made of fine bricks. The air was filled with a fine
scent of things, cigarettes and even tomato sauce that people wanted to lick. A
very nice hotel room, indeed it was we wouldn’t wait to be sound asleep. The
bathroom had a bidet and fine padded stone, nothing even close to a rubbish
heap. On the very next morning after some great sleep, we set out to explore
the very great city. First stop on our visit was the Colosseum, an amphitheater
that going to was definitely not a pity. Lines of tourists were waiting to
enter, with streetman dressed as gladiators trying to make a profit. So
desperate for money that some even reached for our pockets. A great line it was
for my family to wait, but in the end it was worth the time. Tour guide took us
around, a great vast location it was. Much to my surprise was the great black
cross that stood on a rock. After asking around some people told me that the
Pope had been here yesterday around 10 o clock. The long tour was done and the
family was all starving. We sought out places to eat and finally found a small
restaurant so darling. However to our surprise, tourists were there and food
was so slow. They said it would take almost an hour for the food to show. So,
we left with our stomachs so sad and set out for some fast food. The walk back
to the hotel did not enlighten the mood. Depressed we were, until a strange
occurrence, crowds of people were lined up behind caution tapes. Excited we
then became we thought it a celebrity or some mysterious shape. People were
shouting and excitement was in the air, all of a sudden a row of black cars
showed up. The first cars were protection, but we were all excited for the last
car to speed up. Black Mercedes rolled down it’s windows and the Popes face was
there for all of us to see. Ecstatic we all were we wouldn’t believe it. We
weren’t sure if it was actually him or some silly little skit. I guess no
dinner turned out so good.
