What Cougars Want and Have But Won’t Tell Anyone?
Recently I have had the privilege of speaking with a pardoner in my town after his pilgrimage to Canterbury. He explained that on his trip to Canterbury he heard a very interesting and bold story from a woman named the Wife of Bath. Wife of Bath highlighted several important points that showed that she was not an ordinary woman.
1.) Wife of Bath married five times, many of which were with older, rich men.
2.) She used her belle chose to get whatever she wanted
3.) Wife of Bath has ability to make her fifth husband apologize to her.
According to The Evolution of Divorce by Bradford Wilcox women with higher independent economic status’ are more likely to divorce their husbands. Wife of Bath says that of course there are ups and downs in a relationship. She becomes increasingly wealthier, but the relationships never satisfy her. One important question that a majority of my friends and I had for Wife of Bath was why did she choose to date younger guys after her previous stable relationships with older men. Her reply was simple, “They are just simply more attractive and adventurous.” Wife of Bath admires, “Behind the coffin! Heavens, what a pair of legs he had! Such feet, so clean and fair”(274)! But I think what Wife of Bath really needs is a vacation away from all troubles or a trip to the bar with her girlfriends.
